Polyester shoe shoelaces are among the most widely used shoelaces in footwear. Polyester is a synthetic material renowned for its resistance to tearing and abrasion. Because it does not absorb water it is resistant to moisture, mould and microorganisms – meaning these shoelaces handle rain, mud and all-day wear in demanding conditions.

Technical specifications

Round cross-section 2–3 mm, cellulose tip finish, material: 100% polyester. A diameter of 2–3 mm is the universal standard that suits most adult footwear with classic textile or metal eyelets.

What sets polyester apart from other materials?

Compared to cotton, polyester is more resistant to moisture and mould – it does not absorb water and therefore does not deteriorate even when repeatedly soaked. Compared to nylon it has greater dimensional stability, so the shoelaces does not lose its original structure or break after years of use. That is why polyester is the most common choice for both everyday and work footwear – combining a reasonable price with long service life.
