Fluorescent vs. reflective – what is the difference?

Fluorescent shoelaces work during the day – their vivid colour absorbs some sunlight and returns it at a more intense shade, allowing drivers to spot you from greater distances. Reflective shoelaces are passive – they only light up when light from headlights hits them in the dark. If you mostly run at dusk or in low light, fluorescent is the better choice. For night use, we recommend combining them with reflective elements on your clothing.
